並沒有提到平台，docking 這邊是動詞，如前面朋友所說，是連接/停靠的意思，而在這邊譯做對接較為合適 (比如 space shuttle 跟 space station 的對接)，docking in the cage 是「在機架/停機倉內對接」，不如譯做「機架/停機倉內對接位置設定正常/正確/無誤」。


umbilical 譯做「集線」似乎有偏差，望再斟酌。umbilical cord/cable 用於輸送能量和通訊，並非「專門的排線技術」而是「此電纜的作用」，像 eva 背後輸送電力的電纜。
例:
"... the umbilical cords which supply fresh air and communication to the underwater diving crew ..."
"The umbilical is the cable that connects the mother ship providing power and communications to the ASRV ..."

仔細想想，umbilical bridge 似乎跟「電纜」並無多大關係，我們都被 umbilical cable 誤導了???


umbilical bridge 不就是 eva 停放時前面那走人的橋嗎? 這裡的 umbilical bridge 似乎是「連接 eva 和停機倉的唯一的橋」的意思，並非輸送任何能源/訊號，而是輸送「人」，讓人能走近 eva 的橋。


(或者是我太久沒看 eva 記憶混亂中? :p)

edit2: 查到了! space shuttle 發射前，它旁邊那個固定/支撐用的塔就叫做 umbilical tower ，所以 umbilical bridge 在這邊應該是起到類似的作用，而不是傳輸?


edit3: 固定 space shuttle 的塔叫做 umbilical tower 實在貼切，shuttle 發射的時候要與塔分離，就像 baby 出生呢。

「對接」似乎又不太對

譯作「連接橋」或者「固定橋」算了... 人可以在上面走，又有固定作用，傳輸作用不詳... 選一個比較重要的功能吧... >_<

從網路上的資料看來，固定是其主要功用。除了有些台本中有人在上面走的描述外，其他網站都說是固定用。

誰貼個 screenshot?




(為什麼 anime 都做 hardsub 呢... 以前 fansub 用錄影帶時不得已做 hardsub，現在有了 mpeg4 等載體，何必保留這個傳統呢 )

『Ｈ－ⅡＡ』火箭異常監視用『 Umbilical Controller』(臍帶式控制器)

概要
   發射研究開發用的『Ｈ－Ⅱ火箭』，經過連續２次失敗經驗，2001年8月，商用火箭『Ｈ－ⅡＡ』終於發射成功。此火箭是計劃於今後５年間每年發射５枚左右用於傳播、氣象、地上偵察等。

■ 何謂 Umbilical Controller？

　發射是不允許失敗的。因此為了完美地發射火箭，在發射之前火箭與地面上支援裝置間用很多的電纜連接、用指令控制火箭上的閥開/關和繼電器接點ＯＮ／ＯＦＦ等、並監視機體內的電壓、溫度、接點的狀態等之異常。發射火箭時、連結火箭和地面上之電纜接頭（臍帶式接頭）會脫離、只可使用一次 (火箭是使用後丟棄、確實只限使用一次)。為了實現此項功能而裝置在火箭上之控制器被稱為『 （Umbilical Controller） 』。

Umbilical是、『 臍帶 』的意思。

■ FA-M3被使用在為Umbilical Controller

　把市面上賣的FA-M3 的PC板改裝成可以耐振動性：１５Ｇ(２０秒)、耐衝擊性：２５０Ｇ的構造。以有緩衝用之金屬線來懸吊。

  被選為controller之原因是、合理的價格、小型、重量輕、信賴性高、高速處理、耗電量低、Ethernet接續功能、Ｉ／Ｏ open等。

  特別是、Ethernet的連接在系統的輕量化和降低成本上發揮很大功能。

以往在火箭與地面上支援裝置是用很多硬接線(Hard Wiring)連接、但是用配線一條即可解決、可節省切掉電纜用的『臍帶式接頭』之數目、降低成本。

  再者、臍帶式接頭１個約１００萬日元左右。另外、Umbilical Controller是每一枚火箭使用兩組。

The LUT provided access to each part of the Saturn V, from the S-IC to the Launch Escape System at the very top. Nine service arms extended to the umbilicals of each stage, supplying the stages with fuel, electricity, air-conditioning, etc.




This is a model of the LUT on display at the Saturn V Center. If you look, you can see the walkway on the left side of the tower. This matches the walkway on the actual display, thus the "second" deck is the 320' level which had the crew access arm mounted on it.

可是那 umbilical bridge 看不出什麼名堂，也許真的僅僅是固定/走人用的 :p
